More Divorced Men’s Club and more sweet, low angst romance!
Griff put his life on hold to make sure his son’s senior year of high school went well, which meant keeping his divorce from his wife a secret. But, now that Felix is at college, Griff is free to explore the single life…something he’s simultaneously excited and overwhelmed by. I loved how sincere and sweet Griff was and his insecurities about being too old or not knowing how to date anymore was so relatable. He’s a whiz with tasks that require him to work with his hands, but not so much with a computer, making his ex-wife leaving operations of their hotel to him and his best friend Heath a bit of a nightmare.
Heath is Griff’s best friend and guest relations manager at his hotel, so the two of them spend so much time together, even more now that Heath’s made it his mission to get Griff back out there after his divorce. He’s trying to juggle checking in with his mother to make sure she’s not lonely and helping Griff adjust to his new lifestyle. I really liked how confident Heath is and how loyal he is to Griff after all these years - he has his back and is his biggest supporter. Even when things get tough for them at work, he knows they have each other’s back and they work well together.
I really enjoyed Griff and Heath’s transition from best friends to lovers - it felt really natural since they knew so much about each other already, including their strengths and weaknesses. Once Griff was single again, Heath started to see him differently and their flirtation before they got together was so hot. They were talking a fine line and once they crossed it, they were all in even with the complications that their situation presented. I loved that they communicated with each other and always had each other’s back - it could have gotten messy, but they navigated everything well.
Felix was a blast to read and I’m so happy that he’ll get a story of his own in the new Franklin University series ([b:The Dating Disaster|61277555|The Dating Disaster (Franklin U #2)|Saxon James|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1656946332l/61277555._SY75_.jpg|96617104]) coming out soon! I’m so intrigued by Orson and I’m really hoping his book is next…maybe with Ford?! Bring on more of the DMC guys!

It’s was so good I love the characters so much. They fit so well together. It’s one of those that it’s was kind of a long time coming. I love this one because it not the classic one of them is secretly in love with the other from the beginning. Worst the time seriously.
I'm lowering my rating from what I have on the book because frankly Poppy's so many appearance (live or not) was so much more prominent here. Maybe because I had already read the story and knew just how much of a third wheel she was in everything between Heath and Griff. It felt like she was always effing there!
I like Nick Russo as a narrator but he has his faults and here, especially in the epilogue, were really obvious because I couldn't make head or tails when Griff or Heath were talking.
I think after so many contemporary listens these last 2 weeks I'm ready for a fantasy one.

I really needed that!
Cute, sweet, hella sexy and hot, feel good, no angst, beautiful best friends to lovers romance!
I loved Griff and Heath! They had lots of banter and their chemistry was of the charts! Really the Platonic Rulebook just wasn't meant to be used by them.
I can't wait to see what Felix will do in FU in the Shenanigans World! IYKYK!
Gotta say though that when it came to Poppy, I'm not a fan! She could have talked with Heath about changes in their duties and found someone to replace Heath's duties and him take on her role, than just insisting for Griff to take them over. But she wanted to get her own way without considering Griff's strengths.
Anyways this was really such a great, straightforward read!
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

Platonic Rulebook by Saxon James
This was a mixed bag for me.
The platonic love that Heath and Griff had for each other was inspiring, them standing by each other through all the years of their friendship. I liked that they didn’t have years of unrequited love. I felt the romantic love came easily to them despite the few hang ups they had.
I didn’t love the secrecy surrounding the separation between Poppy and Griff, it just didn’t make sense to me. Spending a year separated but not telling their son, just for him to get over it straight away.
Poppy’s surprise leaving from the business they shared felt deceptive, that Griff, a person who loves working outside and working with his hands, is forced into wearing suits and taking a desk job felt wrong. Least it all got resolved in the end. But I think it could have been explained better why Poppy was doing this to Griff (and Heath, because he had to take over her job) without any warning, especially because they had been separated for a year, so she must have been thinking about it for a while.
Despite some of the plot that didn’t make sense to me, I did enjoy this book, I love Saxon James writing and will continue reading the series and everything else she ever publishes!
