Wild. This poor girl could not get a break. The villains in this book are truly some of the worst I’ve ever read.
There were a lot of frustrating and annoying moments. I did not catch all of the twists. I enjoyed reading it and would read more of hers. (Although I wasn’t a fan of Detective Warren herself ).
Disclaimer: this book has alligators. One of my biggest fears. It just added to the horror. I just wanted to share lest anyone else be surprised by them..

DD is flip flops from understanding victims have trauma to victim blaming every other chapter. Also does she even work? All she does is complain that other detective, who do their jobs, are different than she is and how she is better than than because of it.

A very tense read, from different POVs. I hadn't read books with this sergeant detective before, but I felt the book mostly worked as a standalone. Not every character was written well (nor was the writing very great at points) but I really enjoyed Flora's POV, as gruesome as it was. This story is dark, make no mistake, but good.
Graphic: Gun violence, Rape, Sexual violence, Violence, Kidnapping, Murder, and Gaslighting

Creepy and disturbing. I probably wouldn’t have finished it if not for Detective D.D. Warren.
