Not quite as good as the previous book in the series, but not bad. I'll still read the next book.

I felt like some of the climaxes and dramatic moments were rushed and glossed over a bit. The wishy-washy emotions and relationships also kinda got confusing and irritating. Who does she like now? Who likes her now? Who doesn't? Eh, who knows.... And some parts I wish were given more details like the firewyrms and the fight scenes. But overall I enjoyed it.

It is really hard to see where the series is going. How could a Mother Goddess want to allow evil and good to coexist? How could she not if she has to keep balance? The one villian was obvious to me given things other characters had said, and it was still sad. I love seeing Lark become more powerful and sure of herself.

Incredibly short, only coming up to 182 pages on my tablet. Everything seemed so anti-climatic, like it was building up to something, yet I'm not exactly sure what it was because it was dull and frankly, nothing like we haven't seen in the last two books. It was also boring, despite all the action packed into it because for me, there's more to a fantasy novel than action scenes after action scenes. Eventually it gets old and everything seems so insignificant.

4.5 thoroughly enjoyed this book. It is a great, fast paced, action packed, quick reads with great characters as almost all her books are.

Best one of the series so far.

I much preferred this to the water one. I am enjoying that Lark is discovering new things and new powers. I am also excited to see how she is going to treat her familiar!! I kind of want to read that novella...

As with the other books in the Elemental series, FIRESTORM is packed with action, danger and our favorite Elemental Larkspur.

There is no time lost between the end of book 2 and the start of book 3. Lark and Ash is taken into custody and brought to the pit for judgement. Things are defiantly not easy going, but Lark kicks ass and saves the day as usual. I was pleasantly surprised by the twists and turns that Mayer threw at us and I really enjoyed the continuous danger. Although there was no downtime for Lark she still made new allies and stayed true to herself.

I really enjoyed the secondary characters in FIRESTORM. We met Peta in BREAKWATER, but we get to know her even more in book 3. I LOVE her, she is awesome and I can't wait to see her again in the next book. I don't want to reveal any of the other characters I enjoyed as I think it might spoil a few parts of the book if I do, but one person in particular and their family quickly grew.

I was really glad that FIRESTORM didn't end on a cliffhanger, but I still wanted to read more when it was over. WINDBURN can't come soon enough in my opinion and Shannon thankfully writes fast so maybe I won't have to wait too long..
