Hide and Seek is the story of a woman, a house and a missing girl.

Many years ago a game of hide and seek was played. Everyone hid but not everyone was found. The story of the little girl’s assumed death intrigues Joanna. After-all, she has moved into the very house that the little girl once lived in. Her new home ignites a curiosity she cannot contain. Joanna’s troubled past; the questions left unanswered drive her investigation to find the truth - of the child unfound and the child untethered.

Hide and Seek is brilliantly played. The twists and turns in this well-deployed plot leave the reader trying desperately to figure out the truth. The red herrings throw off any hope of finding the answers. You are forced to ride it out, holding on tightly, waiting patiently for the end of the ride. You are satiated when it is over but sick that it is finished.

The characters - so many to wrap your head around at first - are deployed at the right moments. Their depth a chasm you cannot escape. From the first page you are thrown into their story and are so engrossed you don’t notice the pages turn, the time pass or the hunger consume you. You are ravenous to read on.

I read and enjoyed this book with The Pigeonhole so I was forced to read it slowly - one stave at a time. It was torture. I wanted to devour this book and I would have if I had my own copy. It is unputdownable. If you like a thriller then you should definitely read this book.

Thanks for the fantastic story!

another gripping read from andrea! from the end of the first chapter it had me hooked and literally saying WTF. it pulled me straight in. the chapters were relatively short & i moved really quickly through them.

this book was so full of twists and shocking parts which i absolutely adored. she had me suspecting almost every character throughout the book and i was utterly shocked by the ending - the person i thought was the ‘baddie’ the whole way through was actually an absolute angel with a heart of gold.

the ending was so heartwarming which is always a bonus

Clever plot, couldn’t see the ending coming, although I did get a bit muddled with the characters going between the past and the present!

I'd give it 10* if I could. The review by Lee Child "Even the twists have twists" is absolutely spot on.

I can't believe how it all unfolded. Feels movie like and definitely something you'd stumble on during a "what do we watch now?" session on Netflix.

I am not good at predicting plots, probably cause I don't want to spoil it, but I wasn't expecting that. Then it'd throw something else at you.Even the last page throws you off.

Definitely check trigger warnings but I like the topics it brings up. Drugs, domestic violence (can be a bit descriptive rather than left to imagination), abortions, religion, etc. I really like this one.

Might be my favourite book yet!
