to be honest, I am not expecting too much from this book yet I am still looking forward to read it. NOW that I did, I dare say that this book was way better than her previous ones, I read Sea of Strangers in one sitting, an evidence that I did like this book more than her previous ones.
STILL...
there are parts of the collection of poetry and prose that I did think that doesn't make sense at all but the rest was good.
I am expecting another book of hers to be published soon and still, I will look forward to it, IF EVER she will have another book.

2.5 Stars.
Right off the bat, I have to say that my rating is solely dependent on personal enjoyment - I definitely understand people who enjoyed this book a lot more than I did.
However, I found Sea of Strangers pretty... mediocre? I am not sure if that is the correct term, honestly. I could say I am pretty indifferent, just to be a little kinder. In the end, neither term would affect what I feel, so it does not matter too much.
I'd describe Leav's short work as a charming collection, just not my cup of tea. I could not feel any connection to her poems and come to the conclusion that our perspectives on love and life are a little bit too different for me to perhaps enjoy her work more. Her style is nice, nothing mind-blowing, same with her topics and ideas.
Overall, it made a nice company on the bus on my way home.
Also, I've just learned Leav has some (one(?)) published novels, which I feel I might enjoy a bit more, but we'll see if I ever decide to read it.

"Please take your time
and take it slowly;
as all you do
will run its course.
And nothing else
can take what only—
was always meant
as solely yours."
Another way of saying:
"ما أصابك لم يكن ليخطئك ،و ما أخطاك لم يكن ليصيبك."
The book isn't bad and I'm sure many people can relate to it but there is nothing unique about it and the poems just don't hit as hard. I felt like I've read the words somewhere before and once I finished it I didn't feel the need to reread any parts of it.
Hope other readers will enjoy it more than I did.
