If you’re interested in the history of the Kate Spade company or the fashion scene in New York in the 80s/90s I think you’d probably enjoy this book. I found it interesting, but I don’t think I’m the target audience for the book.

This is the memoir of Elyse and Kate Spade, best friends. Elyse and Kate are my contemporaries, and in many ways remind me of my friendship with my BFF.  The mean practical jokes, NOT! - I did NOT like this part of their friendship at all!

The narration is great, the writing is strong, and the story is fascinating.  Two Kansas girls made their careers in the Big Apple to create one of the biggest fashion brands ever. Everyone who loves handbags loves Kate Spade!

This is a deep dive into their friendship from their meeting at the University of Kansas until Kate's passing. It does not focus on Kate's passing with lurid details. So if that is what you want, this is not the book for you.
