I liked the premise of this book, the plot started out interesting but somewhat lost steam for me by the middle of the book. The villain’s reason just didn’t quite excite me. But I do have to say this book was an exciting read. Every chapter was full of suspense, twists and turns.
This isn't horrible. It just isn't for me. The worldbuilding is the best part though it is lacking. It seems like a french world but I'm not sure. The plot and characters are mediocre. I had no attachment to any of the characters but I did prefer Sabine's pov.
I found the story very interesting and unique especially in the lore and magic system of this world. The landscape description also makes this world looks very beautiful.
For our 3 main characters, Sabine is my favourite and her arc is amazing.
Bastien and Ailesse part did not have too much of an arc on this book except for the plot and setting, I hope we can get a greater arc for them in book 2.
Overall a very enjoyable read, I really wish we can have more information about this world and magic etc in the next book.

This book is one that I have been very excited to read for quite some time. The magic system in the book was so interesting and unique, and it was really cool how the gods were intertwined with the magic that was performed.
I loved the three main characters that the book's point of view is from. It was really intriguing seeing not just the romance aspect, but the aspect of the love of sisters, which I really enjoyed.
I enjoyed the plot line of the story and found it really interesting, but sometimes it felt like we were kind of a dog chasing our own tail and that the plot wasn't really going anywhere. It made it more difficult for me to feel immersed in the story. I thought the story was good, I just didn't feel as invested and immersed in it, which is why I didn't give it a full five stars.
Overall, I enjoyed this book and the characters that were in it. I'm curious to see how the story will progress and I'm excited to see how the story will end in the next book!

dnf at 12% I have no motivation to read this book I just don't care. maybe I'll try again at some point but meh
A fantasy story with a lot of inspiration drawn from mythology. Interesting characters -- I like that three perspectives were included -- one being a character not involved in the central romance. It is a darker story involving the Underworld and those that ferry the dead. Looking forward to its sequel. There were a couple of side characters that I found to be frustrating.

I have quite a lot of thoughts about this book.
First of all, I feel like it’s WAY too long for what actually happens in it. It could have been condensed a lot.
Secondly, the romance? Not fleshed out at all and suddenly they love each other with all their hearts? Get outttttt (hate this so much).
Thirdly, I just feel like literally nothing happens in it. I like the concept but I think the kidnapping happened way too early on and there should have been more of the famille and hunting the grace bones because I actually enjoyed those bits.
I actually think that this book could have been really good - it just wasn’t.
ALSO - the narrator for Bastien in the audiobook? AWFUL. Hated him.
I have no inclination to carry this series on so I’m going to cast it from my mind and never think of it again.
