It was fine. Am I going to continue the series? Probably not. Does it have a unique story premise? Sure. Does it have necromancy? Yes. Does it have a cool magic system? Yes.
However, the plot and the romance trope felt forced to me. I couldn't get into it. I'm not sure if the author is building up for the second book? I don't know. Overall, the book left me wanting.
3 stars...I have no intention in reading it again and I'm not sure I would recommend it.

This book was a little slow going for me at first. But, once it got going
Completely in love with this story, the mythology and the characters. Can't wait for the next in the series

Bone Crier’s Moon was definitely a unique read. I’ll be honest: I was confused during a good portion of the story, but in a way that made me want to keep reading to figure out what was happening next. Normally, I can guess plot twists or the ending of books pretty quickly, but this one completely surprised me. I truly had no idea how it would end, and I didn’t see the twists coming at all.
The world-building was intriguing with its mix of magic, tradition, and dark duty, and I enjoyed the tension between the characters. It kept me turning pages because I needed to know what was going to happen, and I appreciated that it felt different from other YA fantasies I’ve read.

This would have hit a lot harder if I were 15 when reading it.
Ughhhh this book was too long. It had a promising start until the love interest arrives (literally, on a bridge) and the whole thing goes out the window.
-Sabine was the better character.
-The magic system and religious belief system made no sense. I kept waiting for it all to be a sham. Even with the poorly conceived plot twists it still didn't add up.
-The romance? What romance? It was insta-love at best, a 0 chemistry alliance at worst.
-They were supposed to be enemies to lovers, but they just forget about being enemies instead of there being any actual character development.
-Jules deserved better.
-THE INFO DUMPING. It never ended. Characters just kept explaining everything to each other for pages upon pages.
-Even for all it's over explaining, there were all too convenient occurrences that were never explained.
-Repetitive with characters needing to find each other or an object or a creature over and over.
