The reason this book was 4/5 stars instead of 5/5 stars for me is because the ending felt rushed in a way. Miles was emotionally unavailable for the whole book, but then he sees Rachel is okay and suddenly 6 years of pain and suffering and I don't know what else just go up in the air and he's ready to beg for Tate to forgive him. It would've been a lot better if it took Miles a bit longer than 5 seconds to let go and heal.

Now that the bad stuff is said, let me hype this up real quick.

I absolutely LOVED the character development we got in Miles, he was very distant in the beginning and seemed to open up more with every event, although he did put his walls back up which made it realistic. I also think that Colleen did an amazing job at making Tate such a relatable character, you could really feel what she felt and that made this book stand out to me. The bond that Corbyn and Tate have was really enjoyable to me, he was sooooo overprotective of her but still accepted her choices in the end.

This was the first book I ever read by Colleen Hoover and I can't wait to read more

Hmm ugly love indeed.
This is one book where the communication between the two main characters couldn’t have been more clear… just the fmc chose to ignore it. Regardless all of this could have been avoided if Miles had just gone to therapy or actually had someone in his life help him - hello Dad? Ian? Rachel?! I’m not sure that I agree with the moral of the story that CoHo has pitched here. I’m left feeling conflicted over this one.
