This was Succession with magic. This was my first true character driven book and I actually really enjoyed it. It took place over a week and you see the development of people within themselves and their relationship with others. It honestly was a complete cluster fuck because rich people like making problems for themselves lol. The witty writing had me laughing out loud at some points and made for much needed comic relief.

My biggest issue with this book was it really did not need to be this long. Miss. Olivie used every single word in the dictionary Blake. I also still do not understand how some people just randomly have magic. I thought that the three Wren children and Lou had magic because of Lou's grandmothers but then we had Yves, who was not involved in their childhood at all, randomly had magic too. I know the magic wasn't the whole point of the story but I was still left with wanting a little more regarding that.
