Very different from the movie based on it, "Slumdog Millionaire."

I really liked this novel and am looking forward to checking out the movie adaptation - Slumdog Millionaire. This was part of my quest to read lots of books on India so we could have book club at an Indian restaurant. I thought it was a little rough for the more sensitive of the book club (life on the Mumbai streets isn't easy), so I kept going. However this is nowhere near as graphic as Kite Runner or Thousand Splendid Suns, so maybe we still could do it for book club (Maybe if it wins an Oscar:)

I like how the story is told through flashbacks at each trivia question in the "Who wants to be a millionaire" type game. It's fascinating how the twists and turns in his life led him to know all the answers.

I got through this book in two days! It was amazing. That it was so different from the movie, I think, let me enjoy them both in different ways. Although it's been a minute since I've seen the movie. Still though, a great read I'd recommend to anyone.

Jäin ihan alkuun, kun ei kiinnostanut.

One of those books that makes me think, "I wish I could write something as good as this."
