phoebemurtagh's review against another edition

I didn't really have anything against this book,* I just didn't find it particularly revelatory. It has a very conversational tone and the advice is delivered with what feels like genuine care. *It does not, however, seem to remember that some queer women are aro/ace, and focusing the book around dating is not just unhelpful for people who don't want to date, but it's actually reinforcing a misconception that being queer is about romantic love & sex, when it truly is a rainbow of experiences. Perhaps it remembers the ace-specs later, but I didn't bother to stick it out that long.
