I actually think this Romeo and Juliet, enemies to lovers, banter-filled, prank war romance novel was super adorable and sweet.

Favourite quote: “I’m not a Morning Person, per se, but I am definitely not a Night Person. I’m barely a person these days. I’m just a vessel for stress and mania.”

Honestly, this book was okay. I’m not sure I’m going to reread it, but I’m not mad that I read it a first time. There were some really interesting plot points, but overall I felt as though the author was trying to do too many things.

This one was a delight!
I listened to the audio book version- and loved it!
It had some great laugh out loud moments, and I really enjoyed the character of Madeline and how she gains confidence throughout the story.
Loved the bookshop element… the enemies to friends/lovers trope was done SO well here… friendship dynamics… family dynamics….
Totally enjoyable, funny, heartwarming read.
Great for YA and adults alike.

Madeline Moore’s life has just been turned upside down. With college on the horizon in the fall, her family’s bookstore is struggling to stay afloat, her absentee mother has reentered the picture, and a rival bookstore just opened up across the street. When the hot Jasper walks into Books & Moore, Madeline’s interest is peaked until she realizes that he is the owner’s son of Prologue, her competition. When an all-out battle rages between the two of them, who will be left standing? A story about the challenges of reaching adulthood and making your dreams come true.
