Very fun, has a very strong character voice and a fun premise, though the pacing and plotting fall a little flat. I was reading it digitally and was a little caught off guard that it was a novella, and it felt like the book was caught off guard too since it does end rather abruptly. It's not a work of high art but does have a very fun character exploration that's worth diving into.

A truely enjoyable quick read.
Murderbot was an extremely relatable main character, I also would like to spend my whole day watching my favourite shows and don't like people looking at me. The other characters were also good, it's always nice to read about competent characters. And I loved how diverse they were and things like polyamorous marriages were just mentioned in a short sentence, really shows how common they are in this world.
Even though this short novella didn't focus all to much on the wider world building, there were enough mentions of politics and technology and such to show it really is a fully fledged out setting and I'm looking forward to reading the other books in this series and learning more about it.

I have absolutely no expectations about this except there's a murderbot who wants to watch TV shows?? I was not prepared for how hilarious and relatable and exciting this was 😭😂 So yep. That's another fave for me 😂

I've read this novella series six times. This is my favorites series of all times. Murderbot is my favorite main character of all time.

Murderbot is a SecUnit, a security unit trying to save the humans it's been tasked with protecting from an unknown group determined to kill them all. As a rogue, most think it would go around killing humans randomly, but Murderbot didn't like doing that. It likes protecting its humans and consuming media, such as the soap opera Sanctuary Moon.

This is a mystery and a comedy set in space and starring an autistic coded, nonbinary main character trying to figure out what it wants while saving its favorites humans. I fucking love this book, and all of its sequels.
