If I have one word to describe this book, then the perfect word would be PAIN! Like OMG?! This book really broke me and I seriously need Veronica to pay for my therapist. Lord, I could barely catch my breath from the beginning till the end. It was a crazy journey but I couldn't help myself from devouring the entire book. It literally got me hooked with all the darkness & suspense.
First of all, let me say that this book blew my mind like never before. I was shaken to the very core throughout my whole reading. I seriously didn't expect for this book to be so dark and twisted with a high level of angst. The way my jaw dropped in several scenes proved how amazing this book truly is. Not to mention that I even cried? I rarely cried but this book made me cry! It was so heartbreaking because of how much these characters were suffering throughout the whole book. Like seriously, I want to hug Marcello and Catalina so badly after what they went through

I spent the first few chapters of this book sulking because there was no Bianca and Adrian but when I got into the story I realised that Lina and Marcello are just as amazing. I spent the story making wild guesses about what would happen (and what may have happened in the past) and was pleasantly surprised to realise that I got a number of them wrong.
This book is dark (more so than many other mafia books that claim darkness) but if you can stomach that then it's a really rewarding read.

Omggggg !!!! think Mr n Mrs Smith , with mafia n the good wife n a bit of bane n all the other good shit that we read n more thrown into it......I wanna ship my kids off somewhere n lock myself in my room n just reeeeeed it ! I cant get enough

I loved this book! It was wonderfully written and the plot and characters are amazing. I had so many sticky notes on pages where I couldn't stop thinking about how cute each scene was. I definitely recommend.
If you want a mafia dark romance with a tortured hero and a great plot, look no further. I loved the characters, old and new, and their backstories.
