you had me in the first half, tracy. then i got pulled in deeper. now again, a year and a half later after reading bloodmarked, i am so mf excited for book 4.
my favorite part was penumbra YEAH OKAY i missed bree and nick so much. and the powerful trio of girls we got there, i love!! i wish we got more sel, but i understand this book was more about bree’s journey (of course, she’s the protagonist) and rediscovering her loved ones, especially nick. i hate erebus because he’s the cause of bree being unable to fully heal from grieving. but she’s so strong, she keeps pushing on despite her challenges. and although she feels alone, she’s not alone! she’s never been alone and she’s finally realizing it! although nobody in the world knows what she’s been through, her support system is there for her 100%.
i actually really enjoyed the first act, hearing from different character’s perspectives. it did drag a little, and at some point i just wanted to go back to bree, but i still liked it. i thought the chapters really expanded the book’s universe and we got a more holistic perspective of bree’s story from the people around her. i love william and lark!!! omg kiss already!! and i did like natasia’s POV chapters, although the audio recording kind of got to me, but at least we got her conversations in real time with her son. i love zoe and elijah’s budding friendship with bree too.
that ending tho?!?
all in all, i’m so excited for book 4. and scared. i don’t want this series to end because i love it so much. team nick or team sel… at this point i don’t even know, i’m always team bree, tho.
