A light read that I blew through on the plane. Definitely liked it enough to grab the next book for the flight back.

An intriguing start to an epic tale.

This is my second progression fantasy and it's a sub genre I defs enjoy!

What worked for me in this story:
-How fast are political standings, magic system and world building is set up. These do expand throughout the story but from the very first chapter I have a good idea of what has been created! Which means as it expanded I never felt confused.
- a secondary character that us introduced to us in the latter half of this story
- the magic system and school setting!

What didn't work for me:
- the pacing of this story
- our main character is very "pick me" and cinnamon roll-ie which is not my preferred character type.
- a random POV that happens but I can't really say much more then that!

Overall I'm really excited to continue on in this series. It's a promising start. Which is good cause I have like ten more books to read!!!

Damn entertaining read. This has been on my TBR forever and finally got around to reading it while on holiday on my Kindle. Such a fun adventure to go on. I really enjoyed this, as it kind of reminded me of some old school RPGs I used to enjoy when I was younger. Really excited for this series. Soulsmith up next!
