A well written book that is eyeopening on the troubles with our justice system and death row. Hinton is an inspiration in his radical love and attitude about his situation. The behavior of the state of Alabama reads like it’s from the Jim Crow era and it’s disappointing to read that a lot has not changed.

While Hinton is a great example of everything wrong with the justice system I wish the book took a more systemic view of the issue. I don’t believe you should need to be this exceptional if you’re wrongly convicted to get released.
