Beautiful message. Compassion is the key. It’s not laziness, it’s causes and conditions. Life is not easy. No one can do more for you or have a greater effect on you than yourself. So be kind, especially to yourself.

I feel it’s a 3.75, but definitely not a 4. There were some points in which, such as when Devon Prince says how he’d text one of his friends about feeling stressed from ignorant comments on Twitter, where I thought, “it’s going to be okay. Touch some grass.”
There was also an almost judgemental attitude towards things the author presents as stressful, but for others can be fun. For example, I love using Duolingo and the reminders are motivating to me. I think this book is presented as a generalized take on society at large, but isn’t. So using compelling language that talks about how we’ve been indoctrinated into the laziness lie, doesn’t apply to everyone.

Some good ideas, but a bit long. Not enough substance.
Technically I didn’t read the last 20 or so pages—it’s been 8 months since i picked the book up and at this point i know I’ll never feel like getting back to it. This book, which I wanted to be more of an anti-capitalist critique, read more like an extended self-help essay.
