This was the second recommendation from my 7 year old. I love anything with parents, which shows my awful self-centeredness:-) I also really love the Susie stuff though and the transmogrifier.

Imagination is such a beautiful thing and calvin and hobbes perfectly encapsulates the immense power imagination holds. i loved the second volume of this compilation and just as the first, it transported me into the world of a hilarious kid whose imagination certainly knows no bounds. I have loved reading these compilations and it has been so fun yet nostalgic rediscovering my own childhood through these.

i will definitely come back again to these whenever i’m in the mood for the perfectly silly, laugh out loud stress reliever.

Yet another among the books published by Bill Watterson from the Calvin and Hobbes comic strip that I have enjoyed. My children have literally worn out these collections of C&H comics, and with good reason. C&H is a unique blend of homespun philosophy, side-splitting humor, and insight into the human (child and adult) condition. Watterson's insights into, and sly digs at, various social, familial, and other institutions of modern life are masterful.

Calvin and his imaginary friend/stuffed tiger Hobbes going on adventures with life lessons occasionally dropped in a sweet and memorable way.

The second collection of the wonderful Calvin and Hobbes comic strip. Full of hilarious, thoughtful, insightful, cynical, non-plussed and surreal moments as Calvin explores the reality of death, life, and the average existence of a 6 year old boy in 1980's America. Reactions can range from laugh-out-loud to subtle nods of agreement at this brilliant reflection of life. Both a time-capsule from that time and still relevant, if you only read one comic strip, read this.

The first time I've sat down with C&H since high school and everything contained within has aged better than a single-malt Scotch.
