"She wanted to drop her forehead against Sam’s chest, to cling to something, anyone that could drive out this painful throb in her stomach, this feeling of rejection or grief or whatever was crawling along her skin."
I found this to be a bit of a slog for a while, and it took me a bit of time to warm to and therefore root for the characters, particularly Sam. However, it did end up picking up a lot and I came to really care for Hayden and Sam; their slow-burn romance worked well and I enjoyed the explorations of their friendships and family relationships too (and appreciated some of the themes that went along with these).
I also HAVE to mention how much I adored Hayden's cat, Frank, and how much I loved that he played such a prominent role in the story!
This wasn't a new favourite romance for me, then, but I enjoyed it overall and it was both a cute time and a story with a decent amount of depth.

This is my first re-read and first time listening to Who’d Have Thought as an audiobook and I thoroughly enjoyed both experiences. I’m such a fan of Sam (I think stand-off-ish doctors are a weakness of mine). This is a great love story that sucks you in with wit and humor and honesty. Hayden and Sam will forever be one of my all time favorite book couples.
Graphic: Homophobia
Moderate: Blood, Injury/Injury detail, Outing, and Religious bigotry
The FMC’s mom has Alzheimer’s which is a main part of this story. There are multiple scenes including her mother and the affects that Alzheimer’s had on her and the family.
