I understand why it is classified as a dark romance, but this just doesn't feel like a dark romance to me. Their relationship was kind of toxic/king of childish, but I enjoyed reading it. There is a sexual assault attempt (not by the MC), but otherwise it is pretty happy and lighthearted to me. While this isn't a series, I'd write home about, I might find myself tuning in for the next book.
