The cast of the series is diverse, just not in this first book. The book is slow-paced, but in a good, tense way. It makes you feel like your experiencing the story of the character in real time.

Been reading this since 2009 (7th Grade). And it instantly become one of my favourite series of all time, since it was about a boy with supernatural powers.

Now, as a final year University student (2021), I'd said that it still carry a huge impression on me in my 2021 rereading.
