I just could not get into this book. I listened for an hour (7 chapters) and then couldn’t motivate myself to listen to more. I really wanted ti like it.

I don’t even remember what this was about. There were people. I feel like they were all acting like morons. There was some cheating mayhaps? It was not good.
I finished All Adults Here which was my birthday BFF add on from @bookofthemonth and it was great. I loved the relationships in the story and always am here for the family drama. It gave me some The Most Fun We Ever Had vibes with a little dose of The Knockout Queen. If you’re looking for a great book to read this summer, add All Adults Here to your #tbrlist
Enjoyable read. Makes you think about the impact mothers have on their kids and that no matter how hard you try, there will always be some long lasting scar you leave. Hopefully the love outweighs the mistakes.

There’s something odd about Emma Straub audiobooks. They inevitably inspire me to work in my basement. The last one I listened to helped me through a big storage clean out project. This one led me to repaint the entire basement in a weekend. There is a lot going on in this book, but it was entertaining without being demanding of my attention.
Took me forever to get through this book. While really liked the character of Astrid, her children all felt shallow and unlikeable. I hated the attempt to connect to the younger generation through the granddaughter character. It felt completely forced and cringey. The plot was super promising, and I usually like books with a good sibling dynamic, but this one really didn’t do it for me.
If you need a fictional account of a dramatic white family, here ya go. It's easy, inoffensive, and likely not too memorable. A beach read, if you will.
Still, she's got some great lines in it which made me want a hard copy.

Beautifully written, perfectly imperfect characters. Loved the story, but man it was exhausting!
