Us Against You

Fredrik Backman

Captivated. Shook. Riveted. This book took me on a ride - or more like a wild roller coaster if I’m being honest. It ripped my heart out, put it back in, ripped it out again, and left me feeling all of the feels at once. The characters continue to be just as lovable, hate-able, and relatable, and the writing simply cannot be beat. Cannot wait to see what book 3 has in store!

I just finished, and all I want to do is start all over again! Backman tells a story beautifully, even if the story itself reveals some of the ugliest, cruelest, most painful parts of us as humans. We fall, and rise again. We stand tall. I was reminded of all the characters I fell in love with in Beartown, and fell in love with them all over again. I can only hope for more from Fredrik Backman!

Cried like a baby.

“He had no team. So they gave him an army.”

“We’ll stand tall if you stand tall.”

Enjoyed this book even more than the first in the series- Beartown. This one had me hooked from the start because I was invested in the characters. I wanted to know what would happen. What more heartache can a community handle?
If you haven’t read Beartown you should really start with that. I also highly recommend this book and Beartown as an audiobook- reader- Marin Ireland has the perfect audio voice.

i have been warned. and still, i willingly put myself through all this. holy sht. maya and benji have my whole heart.

My Bookclub read Beartown last month and I absolutely loved it! So naturally when I learned there was a Beartown 2 I grabbed it. I will say that I think I enjoyed the first one better, but this was also very good. A couple surprises, more in-depth look at some characters from the first book, but I just preferred the first. If you haven’t read Beartown, I definitely recommend you go read that first and then come back to this.

So very good.
