For some reason this book did not affect me as much as Beartown. I dont know why but I could not get emotionally invested in it.
What I loved about Beartown is how realistic it was. Absolutely heart wrenchingly realistic. It was full of human emotions. It was so beautiful and so heartbreaking.
And sadly I feel like this sequel lacked these elements.
Some characters felt unrealistic and sometimes just like comic relief
Spoiler Especially Elizabeth zackell
at the start.
I did not enjoy reading so much about the politicians (skimmed through a large portion of it) . I didn’t feel connected to any of the new characters and was not affected by anything that happened to them.
Also alot of events felt far fetched and required alot of suspension of disbelief.

However, I enjoyed reading about the lives of the characters from the previous book. Bobo, Benji, Amat etc. Seeing their character development and how their lives changed felt melancholy.

Litt for mye politikk og fokus på de voksne karakterene, litt for lite Bobo og Amat. Uansett dypt investert i det her universet nå...hoppe rett til nr tre??

If possible, I may have loved this book more than Beartown. Fredrik Backman has such a way of capturing human emotions. This book gutted me to my core.

Backman delivers again. Heart-warming, heart-wrenching, and introspective, very much in the same vein as Beartown and a fitting sequel. Once I was a little bit into it I was hooked and couldn't put it down.

Only issue is that sometimes it feels like every ending sentence is trying to be some deep, quotable line and it takes you out of the story a little. That, and sometimes I think there's a little too much happening so I didn't feel totally connected to some of the stories.
