Not sure why Bachman takes joy in making me sob like a toddler, but he did it again. He is one of my favorite character authors because he makes every so HUMAN: flawed, likable, and disdainful.

A strong sequel and seamless continuation of the story with new perspectives and POVs. Following the everyday lives of a myriad of characters in a small town where hockey serves as both a division and a unifier. The author details how violence, bigotry, assault, etc. affect a town on an individual and community level. Exceptional and heartbreaking with memorable and thought provoking quotes summarizing societal norms and behaviors, some disappointing, some hopeful.
Graphic: Bullying, Violence
Minor: Rape, Suicidal thoughts
I have a shocking lack of self control when it comes to these books. Second was just as good as the first and a bit more heartbreaking

A good follow-up to Beartown that continues the story of characters you’ve come to know in the first book. It has the same realistic no holds barred storytelling feel as the first: heartbreaking, joyful and satisfying.
Didn't love this one either. If you took all the fluff out of the first two books and put them together, you'd have a great book. I won't read the 3rd one sadly.
Beautifully written and a great follow up to Beartown.
He is such incredibly gifted story teller who is finely attuned to humanity. He reveals the worst and the best in us. Now that the last page is read, what am I going to do with myself? I just want to hear more stories of my beloved characters in Beartown.
