Eh kinda was just okay. I think it's been played so many times that the tropes have become banal.
The story and characters are whatever the best part of this was Shakespeare's dialogue guy really was a gorgeous writer. I still respect the work due to its influence on some of my favorite writers like Oscar Wilde etc..

2nd read: 20 October 2023
I saw a production directed by Nicholai La Barrie which I enjoyed SOOO much that I was still crying at the end, despite the well-known ending.

First thing I noticed is that I’m annoyed with Mercutio. It is just me or I think he’s inlove with Romeo.

I don’t think what Romeo and Juliet had is love at first sight

So I might not understand this correctly.

But she was meant to wed Paris, she “killed” herself, Paris was going to ummm *cough cough* lay with her dead body, and Romeo came in before he even got there. So Romeo killed him-
Did Paris kill Romeo or did Romeo poison himself?!

And then Juliet killed herself.

I’m slightly confused, overall loved the book though.
