Thank you, next.

Ok spy Thriller, was a page Turner and I'll probably read the next one. Deatil oriented folks (you know who you are) might not like the occasional continuity errors. Foodies might like the recipe after each chapter.

I had seen the film before i read the book. While the core concepts of the book were maintained for the film, there were some changes that still made reading the book enjoyable.
Food also played an important part of the book. The author included a small paragraph at the end of each chapter on how to cook something that appeared during it. While i know people have commented on this, and didn't seem to impressed with it, i liked it.
The narrator was OK. I think it would have benefited if they had someone who could do a little voice acting for the different characters more than what was done. But barring that, it was acceptable.
Not sure i will continue with the series. This is mainly because this is out of my main reading core (SciFi/Fantasy/Historical). Maybe if there was another film.

For what it is, it’s excellent. Took me forever to read. My only complaint is some acronyms I didn’t know and the use of run-ons. I think it would’ve worked better for the author to maintain the same diction instead of slipping into otherwise uncharacteristically long sentences for action scenes.

11% in, and I am out. I don’t have time to read misogynistic books written by men that are purely for the male gaze. Thanks, but no thanks.

I listened to this on audio and this may have been my mistake. As i only listen in the car my cut offf points are prescribed by the length of journey. The story follows a couple of double / triple/ super spies who i was never quite clear on which country they were spying on or for. An awful lot of it was about the relationship between Nate and Dominika rather than the secrets / spying which really seemed to be a lesser plot line. It wasn't awful but i can't say it was more than an average and for lengthy listen and what on dart is the idea with all the useless recipes

I got this audiobook from an Audible sale. It had been on my TBR list for a while, so I was excited to get started. Red Sparrow by Jason Matthews is an interesting spy-tale mixing the Cold War era Russia vs. US spy games with present day technology available.

Dominika is a Russian spy. As deadly as she is beautiful, she’s gone to Sparrow School to learn how to use her feminine assets to get what she wants from who she needs it from.

Dominika is assigned to get information from Nate, an US CIA agent, to find a mole in Russia’s government. The story from here begins a face paced adventure where neither agent knows what they’re really in for.

There are parts of Red Sparrow that literally put me to sleep, but being honest, the story is interesting (we were watching The Americans while listening to this series), and makes you wonder how much of the story is fiction, and what parts are pulled from the author’s previous case files.

Aside from having a hard time keeping the similar Russian names straight, I loved everything about this book! Narration was also great.
