'It is all so long ago. Does it matter?
Now I come from her,
the mother who stole my milk teeth
ate the digestive left for Santa'

Interesting poetry.

I found it difficult at times to identify the speaker and follow the narrative. Especially when it moves beyond the birth mother, adoptive mother, and daughter.

Written in perspectives of the black community, homosexuality, cross dressing and more. Appreciated the language of fear, anger and the danger of being the minority and constantly questioned and questioning yourself.
