Not at all what I expected, but quite a fun and exciting read! It’s a book that’s incredibly hard to put down, filled with interesting characters and a fantastically vivid environment. If you’re not sure if you should read it, pick it up!

Slow start but once it picked up, I was hooked.

While I loved the writing, ambience, and general story, I wish there would have been more of an exploration of the relationships that Bridget has with the rest of the girls. Other than Constance and Grace, I felt like many of them were interchangeable. I think that The Wolf Den by Elodie Harper does a really good job exploring similar themes (and setting) as this book but was able to make each character feel fleshed out and unique.

"Queer westerns" are a tough category for me, because I think there's a perfect one that lives in my heart -- and this wasn't it, so many things aren't it. The pacing in this one frustrated me, unfortunately. and the main character's arc wasn't as satisfying as I would have liked.

This was an interesting read, I am not very much into westerns but this was original and the main character had a strong personality that I loved!
