insane. was not expecting to leave a 4 star review on this book. I enjoyed the POV swapping chapters that were still sequential for the most part, just explaining the scenes as they played out from the rotation of views.
Aeri is the most annoying character, possible that I've ever read...then the plot thickens on her and i hate her even more??? (I'd decided to remove AT LEAST a star on this review for her annoyances alone)
But the ending was pretty nice. a better setup for book 2 than i'd expected, a twist that was not SUPER obvious along the way.

What a whirlwind! This book had so many things to love. There's the tension and mystery between the main characters - it's impossible to guess who will betray who. The romances added into that setting. The fast-paced writing. The plot-twists. Yum. I will say that some of the relationships seemed born out of convenience rather than organic, gradual growth. But they were cute! There's also a sprinkle of misogyny, which I think is there to be disproven by our fabulous two female leads, but which could have been written slightly differently to make it clear that it's not ok. I'm hoping some of the characters will have more interactions outside of their parings in the sequel, but I appreciate the dynamic they've got and I love how distinct the different characters' P.O.V.s are. I'm both frustrated by the ending and looking forward to seeing how it develops.

the writing was atrocious. the world building was perplexingly bad. the characters were shallow. the premise was so interesting and the romances were MEANT to be incredible and full of yearning but the author didnt give a fuck so instead we got instalove and horny slop. despite everything i still had so much fun reading this. the chapters were short and it was incredibly fast paced so i was constantly engaged and i was occasionally gagged.  unfortunately for everyone involved(including myself) i will be reading book 2.

Wow, What a book! I absolutely loved this book. This fantasy book was just so gripping. I loved all the different characters and POVs. What was great abouth this authors writing is that even though there were 6 different POVs, none of them got mixed up and each one was unique. There were so many things that took place and so many different things to keep in the back of your mind, but it added to the whole plot.

My favorite character would definitely be Sora (the poison maiden), she is so unique and what a strong MFC! She was one of 18 girls who were sold to a count and put through an illegal poison school where they were slowly dosed with poisons so they'd become immune. I loved how unique she is to many stories.

Uncovering the lies and trying to figure out who would betray the other was so much fun, was I close no
