This had me in the first half and very much lost me in the second. 

The writing style was lovely but the repetition and focus on the toxicity of their relationship didn’t keep me as engaged. 

I honestly could’ve had a little bit more history in there, but maybe I’ll have to read some of Erpebbeck’s other books in future.
