Ach jo...
Už Kříďák pro mě vyzněl dost průměrně a popravdě Jáma na tom není o nic lépe. Ne, že by C. J. Tudor psala špatně, ale její knihy mě neskutečně frustrují. Mám pocit, že vždy 2/3 knihy jsou jen nudným protahováním a neustálým opakováním toho, co by se dalo shrnout na - když už hodně - tak cca 50 stran. Což mě neuvěřitelně nudí a mám sto chutí knihu odložit. Jako by to psal někdo jiný. Když se pak konečně začne něco dít a stojí to za to, je už v podstatě konec a vlastně se mi nepodařilo se pořádně začíst, natož užít si atmosféru a knihu jako takovou. A já se přitom tak těšila.

There were some really creepy parts, that were so, so good. I just wish there were more of them. I also wish there was a little more backstory to the how and why it was happening.

It's weird, I really like the ideas behind the authors stories, I just have some issues with the execution. I want to read more by her, but I'm bound to be disappointed.

Anyway the creepy parts really worked, scary small children is always freaky.

2,5. La historia y narración te atrapan, pero me ha faltado algo más. ‘La desaparición de Annie Thorne’ comienza con una historia muy interesante, que se va enredando cada vez más. Se han incluido muchas tramas en el libro, pero en ninguna se ha profundizado demasiado. Una lectura que engancha, llena de plot twists, y que mejora en la segunda mitad, pero que se queda en la superficie. Muy buena ambientación, aunque me hubiera gustado que todo lo relacionado con la mina (y lo que sucede allí abajo) se hubiera desarrollado más.

This was a chilling dark read that had me gripped. Another next level engrossing story from C.J Tudor. Didn't even stop to make a cuppa. Very compelling dark and the supernatural elements left a deep chill. I don't think I will be the only one left checking for beetles in my bathroom! Outstanding read

Joe Thorne receives a strange e-mail saying “I know what happened to your sister. It’s happening again.” Years ago, Joe’s sister went missing, but then came back home a day or so later. However, she was not the same sister. So, Joe returns home to figure out who sent the e-mail, and if other kids are going missing. There is a lot of flipping back in time to the events leading up to when his sister went missing and after she returns. I found the paranormal aspect intriguing, but this book did not hold my attention as much as her two other books. However, I’m still a fan and will continue to read her books.
