This is the story of Hannah, a wannabe invisible outsider thanks to her father's Hugh Hefner like business and her mother's online persona. She finds herself afraid to fall in love, but ends up doing just that. It's a short, sweet, easy read that was a decent break from my textbooks.
I'm a growing fan of Elizabeth Scott novels. I haven't read everything from her (for shame, I know), but everything I have read, I've enjoyed. Something, Maybe is no exception.
While reading this, I couldn't help but admire Hannah's strength. While she may not have the best self confidence, but she handles herself well. With her mother not being the most stable, and her father never around until he needs her, Hannah has had to play the adult. While I hated that she had to play that role, she did play it well. However, you're able to tell that it's left her a little guarded.
What I appreciated about Something, Maybe was that there wasn't a major issue in the novel. It was simply a snapshot of Hannah's life. No major deadline, no huge if, then scenario. There's enough going on in Hannah's life that it carries the novel through. This was really refreshing. Sometimes it's nice just to take a peek into someone else's life without having a major situation going on. The relationships between Hannah and her parents as well as Hannah and Finn are so dynamic, they kept me completely invested in the novel.
I will say that there were moments where I wish things were stretched out a little more, moments where I felt I was missing a bit of dialogue, moments I can't talk about without spoiling things. However, this doesn't stop it from being quite an enjoyable read. I finished Something, Maybe in one sleepless night and enjoyed it tremendously.

Elizabeth Scott is one of my favorite authors. I think she really always hits it out of the park, and Something, Maybe is no exception. Hannah is a loveable character with a hilarious voice. From her crush on Josh to every argument she has with Finn, and her relationship with her parents. I thought the characterization of her dad was really fantastic, especially because every reader had to be imagining Hugh Hefner when they read about him.
This book was okay. It wasnt as good as the other books I have read, and it definitely didn't compare to Elizabeth Sott's other book, "Living Dead girl", but it was okay enough to occupy my time.
What a nice story…I was very skeptical of this book. I’ve been reading so many supernatural or Fairies that I wasn’t sure if I was ready for “Something , Maybe”...Boy what a surprise! Is a very refreshing story, simple but very enjoyable. I’m not a big fan of the cover although I understand the whole picture…I guess is just the color or maybe the model…anyways is an easy reading and something nice to enjoy…for summer reading…I’m definitely looking for more books From Ms. Scott
This is a reread for me and I still love it. It's a quick easy read that is slowly helping me escape my reading slump.
It was a really fun read. I really want to check out more books by this author. The character was really relatable, and at some parts you could really feel her stress at always being overshadowed by her mother.
this is a quick read that shows how you can't let your parents define you. It also has the romance part but that was predictable.
