How delightful. After enjoying Rules of Cilvility the chance to visit with Evelyn is lovely. A series of six short, interlinked stories, these show Amor Towers skills with language, and painting people a scenes quickly, efficiently and delightfully.

I liked this book even though I am not really a fan of Eve.

I had been looking for this book for ages and was delighted when Mr. Towles posted a link to order a copy. (https://shop.shakeandco.com/print-in-store/eve-hollywood-signed-edition-amor-towles -this is the only place it's available it seems.) This is a lovely, though slim, follow up of interconnected short stories to Rules of Civility. It doesn't have the depth of his other books but, like everything he writes, it was a joy to read.

Like a nice drink at the end of a day. Soothing. Perfectly balances.

Not as good as the book that it's inspired by, it was nice to get a glimpse of what happened to Eve after she disappeared from the Rules of Civility. It does feel a little bit like a couple of episodes that were cut from the book in the final edit, but I still enjoyed getting a glimpse into Eve's life in California, even if it was frustratingly incomplete.

Pros: I have yet to read anything by Amor Towles that isn't at least a four-star read. This collection of short stories was an interesting follow up to Rules of Civility for those who are interested to know what happened to Evelyn after she moved to Hollywood. I especially enjoyed the way the filming of Gone with the Wind made an appearance in this book.

Cons: I think readers who are looking for a full-length novel will be disappointed that this is only 100 pages.
