o enjoyed this book! Matt is so hot! Such a cinnamon roll, green flag of a man! The way he was done bad for Lane just warmed my heart 🥹 I loved how HBY showed both girls dealing with their guilt and pain of losing their father and how it showed up in their dating lives. Loved seeing the healing and the HEA. I loved the representation in HBY’s books. Also, I laughed so much throughout this book! Matt having his PhD will stay with me forever 😂

The beginning really dragged for me which is why I rated it lower. I thought that Lane’s anxiety was written well but it was so hard to be in her head sometimes.
Matt is amazing and deserves everything good in this world! I thought the ending was perfectly paced and had just enough details and follow-ups.

I’ve never had a 3rd act break up piss me off more. HOWEVER, I loved the rest of this too much to give it any lower than 4 stars. This was a sweet story about overcoming grief and learning how to heal and trust. Matt and Lane were so sweet, and Matt is definitely one of my new favorite MMC’s.
