This book hit me pretty hard. The representation of grief in this book felt very realistic, coming from someone who has recently lost someone. I loved the journey that Lane goes through in this book. Going from being in the midst of grief to working through the pain and being able to move on as much as possible. I loved the portrayal of how therapy can be so important in dealing with grief. It felt really realistic and the book did make me cry. I really enjoyed reading this book just like the first book in this series.
So cute! Definitely had me crying at how caring and kind Matt is and the way he voices his feelings.

Can someone bring me my very own Matt, please? He was absolutely everything I’ve ever wanted in a partner and I’m currently plotting ways to remove Lane from the picture.
Joking aside, I actually really loved both characters as individuals, but it took me a long time to see Lane and Matt work well as a couple. I got there with them, mostly, but I’m glad Lane was willing to put the work in to heal herself first. If she hadn’t done that then I don’t think I would have been sold on them working well together in the long run.
Hannah Bonam-Carter is quickly becoming an auto-read author for me. I love her style and I’ve loved all of her characters. I want to spend time hanging out with her characters (and wouldn’t say no if Matt and Lane were looking for a third hahah!)

I LOVED it. This one felt better than next of kin, maybe it was because I relate more to her. Loved the MH representation. Matt is a sweetheart.
