“you've ruined me. do it again.”

this book ruined ME. it's also better than the first book.
like don't get me wrong, i still love next of kin, but warren didn't make the greatest first impressions (he was a jerk) while matt was a kind soul right from the start. this really sets the tone for any relationship, and i didn't realize how important that was until now.

matt and lane with their communication, playful banter, the angst — and the freaking chemistry 🔥🔥🔥 their connection was just so much stronger and healthier.

they were basically in a friends with benefits situation but they weren’t very good at it??? and just so you know, i don't usually like this trope but after reading this i've been converted. happily.

I really loved this book. Matt may be my favorite MMC ever. The ending made me really happy
the proposal made me laugh and cry.
. What a sweet book.

We love a romance that’s real and honest! What starts out as a kiss on NYE a few years ago blossoms into a sweet friendship, then flirtation as Matt helps Lane convert a school bus into her home. All while Lane grapples with anxiety and fear of  commitment that felt a little too real. Matt’s patience and sweetness while Lane worked to deal with the death of her dad and all that comes with it was everything. His family and their openness and love that was freely given was also amazing. And, a main character that actually goes to therapy and figures their stuff out?! We love. A great slow burn with spice that I actually enjoyed

Literal perfection

THIS DAMN BOOK. Listen, I’m not a friends to lovers person and I usually avoid them but I’m SO glad I didn’t say no to this book because I never actually cried HAPPY TEARS from a book before?!

I really did get emotional at the end

I swear HBY writes the BEST fictional men. I would marry Matt in a heartbeat
