Listen, Matt is literally a walking green flag, and I liked Lane. I am a huge fan for a golden retriever MMC, so this was fun. I felt like the story made sense and didn’t feel drawn out, overall fun short read.

when they said slow burn they meant SLOW burn. this book dragged but i do like her writing style like 90% of the time so it wasn’t horrible. also the second act breakup was written terribly and he was just being unreasonable and manipulative so. also hot take but i hate epilogues and i especially hated the 2 chapter epilogue that this book had.

Hannah Bonam-Young is extremely talented and I don't want to take that away from her, but a large hot man who is extremely kind and absolutely devoted to this woman but also genuinely happy being a true friend to her will get me every single time. Such a bonus that I love the other characters from the series and that it's basically also an HGTV episode.
