the book was okay!! the characters were super interesting and the way the book handled grief was amazing. there were just some parts that i had to pause and be like “seriously..” but overall i had a good time! WE LOVE MATT!!!

Okay… deep breath. Let me just gather myself for a second…
This is hands down my favourite Hannah Bonam-Young book to date — I’m obsessed with all of them. But something about this one hit differently.
The whole story felt like a hug in book form. Like Lane’s description of Matt: “a walking hot-water bottle. A favorite blanket. A cozy hoodie. A cup of tea delivered with a kiss on the forehead.” That’s exactly how this book felt. Comforting, gentle, and full of heart.
The friends-with-benefits trope is my least favourite, but this one? Perfect. Tender, honest, and so emotionally satisfying. 💛

Hannah Bonam-Young really knows how to put the readers through it. Every turn the story took, I felt so connected to emotionally and I just generally loved the vibe. This story might have felt like a lower stakes read plot-wise, but wqs definitely heavy-hitting in the feels department!

I did really enjoy this book but the pacing felt a little off. Very slow to start and then incredibly rushed at the end. The dialogue between the two main characters felt a little juvenile at times too.
Truly cannot believe that the main character goes from complete avoidant attachment to
asking the MMC to marry her in the space of 2 months. "Im healed now, marry me!"
