This book was so good. I was worried there was going to be a bad twist at the end, and I'm so glad there wasn't because I just loved Sophie so much, I couldn't have born it if she turned out to be evil, haha. I want to be her friend so badly. What's not to want? A hundred+ year old witch with a castle in the woods who takes care of you, has spider friends (I could learn to like spiders!), who bakes for you and makes you homemade soaps and lotions, and teaches you to believe in yourself and be strong and independent and also be magical? Sign me up honestly. This book was so good and odd and weirdly fun. It's really a book about a character coming into her own and learning to stop shrinking and changing herself for people, but with MAGIC, and I just love that.

4.5! Really loved this book, the writing style, humour and characters were fab, just felt the ending was a little bit rushed. Absolutely adored Ralph, thought he was such a great addition and wish I could have him!
