Another fantastic addition to the world of Riyria.
I really enjoyed this one. Mainly because of just how many nods to Revelations there were. It’s so satisfying seeing events that were mentioned in that series actually taking place. It was great to see how the boys got Winslow to start working with them. Even though he had to stop drinking rum. Sad times indeed.
It was also really interesting seeing the royal family before the events of Revelations. Especially the king...
These characters are so damn lovable. Hadrian is so innocent, he always sees the good in people and wants to believe that their intentions are pure, even though most of the time they are not.
Royce is my precious baby and I will love him always. You definitely see his more sinister side in the one. Duster comes out to play and it doesn’t end well for some. I love how cynical he is and I love it that Hadrian has learnt Royce’s idiosyncrasies, and what they signal.
Of course I’m looking forward to the next one. I hope that there will plenty more tales of Riyria to come. I don’t think I ever want the stories to end.

The cover art is... not good. There's a lot more brooding on the outside than on the inside, thankfully.
Loved this one so much! Definitely my favorite of the Riyria Chronicles novels thus far! Cannot wait for The Death of Dulgath!
Excellent. Will return to this world for as many books as can be published. Time to start the next one!

I dont think I liked this one quite as much, but the last line was so great. And, as always, it's just such a fun read.
