This book swooped in at the end of the year & stole my heart!! I am obsessed with the characters, Frank is so sweet & I loved getting invested in his story! Libby was such a great protagonist, I loved seeing her relationships grow & changed. Dylan. Is. The. Cutest!! I’m so happy with the ending as well. This is on par with Lovely War for me. So sweet.

Who knew that a brief conversation on a London bus could spark a sixty year search?
Libby has moved to London after being suddenly dumped by her long-term boyfriend. While on the bus she meets Frank and he tells her his story of meeting a young artist who changed the course of his life. Libby is inspired to help him track down his “girl on the 88 bus” and what ensues changes her life.

This book was like a big hug. After recently reading Freya Sampson’s previous novel, “ The Last Chance Library,” I couldn’t wait to get my hands on this. And it absolutely lived up to my expectations. The characters are wonderful and I couldn’t help but love nearly all of them. Libby is a caring and loving person who is treated unfairly by her family and recent ex-boyfriend. Dylan is judged constantly by his appearance, yet when people give him the chance and get to know him he has a heart of gold. And Frank is utterly adorable. Though his story is heart-breaking, his character and story is one that leaps off the page.
This book touches on so many topics with each character bringing something different to the mix. From dementia, to making tough life choices, there are some powerful themes explored. This is a wonderful story about friendships, and an absolute joy to read.
