Reading this book is like knowing something horrible is going to happen but there are small steps that are making it better and you think maybe it won’t happen and then BAM. It happens.

I continue to enjoy this series! There are some amazing found family moments between Kiva and Caldon, Naari and the others but the entire time you’re waiting for the other shoe to drop when they find out how she’s connected to the rebels. It was PAINFUL seeing Kiva struggle with who she is and how she related to those around her.

Throughout the book I felt endlessly suspicious of Zureeka and wasn’t surprised at all with her betrayal at the end. The most heart breaking thing? That Kiva wasn’t able to explain herself in anyway before being taken. My only hope is that Caldon can explain on her behalf after he gets them out. But WOW what an ending.

Immediately jumping into the next!

Fun read, not as good as the first book. Felt like things were going too well for the main character and some side characters were too perfect. I hate when the villain reveals all their plans, it’s so stupid! Overall I enjoyed the book and can’t wait for the next one!

This was a great sequel to the first book in the series, this book was a lot of character development now that Kiva finally had freedom.

She has to struggle between choosing her family and her found family with Jaren and the other Valentis family members.

She had to overcome trauma from being in prison and come to terms with news that slowly comes out about her family, their history and the choices they made on her behalf.

I really enjoyed this book!!! The series overall is likely going to be a 4.75-5 star trilogy!
