Very short book, didn't really get it until the end. I think I read this too old (read at 15) because the pacing and plot and characters just didn't add up as nicely as I would have liked.

"Cut" didn't quite go far enough. I found myself turning the page hoping for the emotional and raw tale that I had expected. A mediocre introduction to teen emotional struggles, a mind-opening lesson in dealing with your personal issues, and a luke-warm outlet for readers seeking guidance in control

It was alright. A fast read that never really went anywhere. A very shallow look into mental health overall.

While I appreciate the outlook on mental illness and the character development, this book felt like it had such a slow climb and a really fast conclusion. I really would have liked to see where the main character wound up in the end, as well as the other characters.

One of my goals is to read everything on my bookshelf that I've been saying I'd read for years, but haven't. I started with this book since it was short and was gifted to me years ago.

This is important subject matter, yes. The story itself? I have no idea what the point was. There's a girl, Callie, who likes to run and sometimes cuts herself. Her brother has asthma, and about 100 pages in we find out she blames herself for... some reason? There are other girls in the facility with her and their problems vary.

That's about it.

This was the second time of me reading this book and it was good. I like the characters and the story line but I had to give it only 4 out of 5 stars because it could have gone deeper. I feel like you didn't really get callies story. But other then that it was a good look into some of those types of places. She is a great writer and very easy to follow!
