I read while listening to the audiobook and MAN! This will go down as one of my favorite memoirs. It was great to learn abt Will and his road to stardom. He was pretty vulnerable and honest.

A fun read and the audio version adds a lot of great music and sound effects in a non-intrusive way. The ending feels a little too self important and goes on for too long, but other than the final chapters, I really enjoyed this book.
I am so glad I chose to listen to this book. This book was such a life changing and perspective book for me. I have always loved and adored WILL SMITH, but this book…made my soul fall in love with him. This book was vulnerable, raw, truthful, heartbreaking, funny, and filled with life lessons that will stick with me forever (and have me really thinking).
This was by far the BEST memoir I have ever read. He shares his journey: from being a kid, to fresh prince, to everything in between, to now. If you get the chance, please read or listen to the audiobook. I’m not one to buy a book after I have listened to it, but I need the physical copy to highlight everything that made an impact on me.
“Learning is really easy when you can feel that your teachers love you”
This quote broke me for very personal reasons and experiences. I will never truly know what it is like to feel loved or scene by a teacher.
“I like making friends, I thought. I began trying to listen to and observe what was going on in my head, and a painful realization washed across me: I wasn’t enjoying being with myself. In fact, I wanted to get away from myself as fast as I could. And it dawned on me, If I don’t want to be with me, why the fuck would anybody else wanna be with me?”

I listened to the audiobook version of Will and really enjoyed it. Hearing Will Smith tell his own story added an extra layer of depth. It definitely put some things in perspective about the Oscar incident.

This book didn't disappoint! It's a lot more introspective than I expected and inspiring. Having followed his career, it was exciting to learn who he was outside the fame and fortune.
