Sophie, the female dark magic witch lead, has been anxious for a long time, fearing that she’ll be stripped of her magic when it is revealed at her initiation ceremony. Instead, she is bound to Lucius, a much older light magic warden and the male lead, who had no interest in acquiring a partner. She’s sure he hates her but he’s also very determined to dominate her…

This short story is female lead POV, with male lead epilogue, well written, and a fast-paced, fantasy, romantic erotica tale. I empathised with Sophie’s concerns for her future, and enjoyed her relief that she would have one. I enjoyed her awakening at Lucius’ command, and her enjoyment of her experiences. I admit that I really didn’t like Lucius for most of the story and it was only the epilogue in his voice that made it romantic enough for me to be happy. I enjoyed his final position of care and compassion for, as well as more carnal appreciation of, Sophie.

I received a complimentary copy from the author and this is my voluntary honest review.
