This was a fairly typical cozy mystery plot. Some really unrealistic aspects (not unheard of in cozies) made it hard to immerse myself in the story. Still, it was enjoyable, and I really liked the little cast of characters, and the desserts mentioned made me wish I could eat sugar. I read this one without having read the first in the series, and I had no issues. It easily can stand on its own. If you like cozies, you'll probably enjoy this one.

This one doesn't have as much charm as the first one. Perhaps it's because most of the character growth happened already, and now the relationships and characters felt more static. I still enjoyed the mystery, though, and will eagerly read the next in the series!
