Wow!!!!!!!!! I was so impressed with this book. Going into it not knowing what was real and what was fiction was what made this book that much more impressive. It reads so much like true crime, and I was deeply invested in the lives of the people in Edgewood during this haunting time period. Chizmar made so many unique choices with this book, and I will definitely gush about this one to anyone who needs a recommendation. Definitely one of my favorite books now!

I'm not a fan of true-crime fiction, and my sense is that this is a clever up-ending of some of its tropes. It's a decent story, but the writing itself was so flat I almost quit after the first hundred pages.

Not completely sure how I feel about this one. Reads exactly like a true crime novel but is fiction while being based loosely on events/places from the author’s life. A very interesting premise that had me reading it in one sitting, but wasn’t my favorite read ever.

This was such a good read! Fiction but also has some truth to it! This was a random buy and I’m so glad I bought it! I can’t wait to start becoming the boogeyman!
